Wedding Photography FAQ

Q: Do we need to give you a “shot list”?

A: After nearly two decades photographing weddings, I have a pretty comprehensive shot list in my head. Every combination of family and wedding party you can imagine will be covered by default. A list of your immediate family and wedding party members, however, is very helpful.

Q: When will our photos be ready?

A: Your entire gallery will be ready to view within 4-6 weeks of your wedding date. A small preview gallery will be available the week after your wedding.

Q: Is an engagement photo session included with your wedding packages?

A: A complimentary engagement session is included with every wedding package. Taking advantage of this free session is guaranteed to make you feel more comfortable working with me on the day of your wedding.

Q: What's included in your wedding photography packages?

A: Detailed info about my packages can be viewed here. In my humble opinion, they're a pretty good value when compared to other Albuquerque wedding photographers with a comparable level of experience and quality.

Q: What rights do I have to my wedding photos?

A: Along with the high-resolution digital images from your wedding, you will have an unlimited personal license to print and share your photos online. My only requirement is that you don't apply filters or AI elements to any photos you post online.

Q: Can I request specific shots or poses?

A: Of course. If you want me to grab a shot of you and favorite cousin, for example, I'm happy to oblige. If you want to recreate a childhood photo of you and your siblings, let's go for it. Receiving an inspiration board of photos taken by other photographers, however, tends to interrupt my creative flow. Your wedding photos will be much more authentic and unique if you trust my creative judgement.

Q: What's your approach to photo editing?

A: My editing style is classic and true to life. I simply adjust for color, contrast, and exposure. I don't apply filters or presets, as those will inevitably look dated in a few years. At most, I convert some photos to black and white. Another reason I keep my editing style natural-looking is because I know you put a lot of thought and effort into picking the colors for your wedding. Filters and presets can greatly affect the hue of those colors, making your photos a distorted version of the wedding you worked so hard to plan.

Q: Do you have experience shooting at our chosen wedding venue?

A: If your wedding is taking place at a wedding venue in New Mexico, I've probably worked there. If your wedding is taking place in a private backyard or a venue I'm unfamiliar with, that's great! I find new locations to be very inspiring. I can quickly suss out the best spots for photos with no experience at your venue necessary.

Q: What if there's an emergency and you can't make it to my wedding?

A: In my many years of wedding photography, this has yet to happen (knock on wood). In the event that it does, however, I have a trusted network of backup photographers I can reach out to.

Q: How do we book our wedding with you?

A: The process is very simple. Once you've decided I'm the photographer for you, I will send you a proposal and a link to book online. A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking.
